The Laundress' Guild

The Laundress Guild is the cover for the prostitutes, harlots, and ladies of negotiable virtue that haunt the night-time streets of Grantabrugge. The citys authorities tolerate the existence of such a guild because it reduces the obvious levels of vicious and violent crimes, not to mention the fact that many figures of note make frequent use of the Guild services.

There is no central Guild house, but the Laundresses maintain a number of properties throughout the city, not all of their business can be conducted on street corners and in dark alleyways. It has been known for different organisations to be running the bar at different times of the week - finding an individual to operate the bar all the time is difficult, as the task is regarded to be dangerous and thankless. Currently the bar is primarily left unstaffed and unlocked on Fridays, the most dangerous time, with free drinks kindly provided by a Master of the Green College who suddenly found that he owed a Launderess some favours in exchange for not leaking his name and tastes back to the staff room...
