The Pantheonic Treaty
Immediately before the foundation of CUTT (1286/2002) a terrible supernatural disaster wiped out nearly all of the known gods, leaving only 15. These surviving gods were bound into two groups, named the Mace and Sword Pantheons, by a Treaty which also limited the actions of gods and made it difficult for new deities to arise without replacing an existing god. Gods who used to belong to the Mace Pantheon (led by St. John) have a blue background above, those who belonged to the Sword Pantheon (led by Vivamort) have a purple background. Balance was instrumental in the formation of the Pantheons and belonged to both simultaneously. Each god was also paired directly with a Pantheonic opposite with a roughly inverse approach.
In the 4th year of CUTT (1290/2005) the god Triplicity was replaced by the new god Unity, who was subsequently destroyed and removed from the sword pantheon. Following this the gods of revenge and law merged in the Mace pantheon to form the god Justice and maintain the numerical balance between the two groups.
In the 6th year of CUTT (1292/2007) an Amendment was made to the Pantheonic Treaty which allowed Skaven to awaken to Sword gods and Kender to awaken to Mace gods, previously only humans and true elves had had access to spiritual powers. In the Amendment the gods also enforced the legality of public worship of all extant faiths, meaning that in Wessex the churches of Sordan and Vivamort were legalised for the first time (if practiced with the participant's consent, and with smiting of the undead remaining legal).
At the end of the 7th year of CUTT (1293/2010), the Pantheonic Treaty was destroyed in play - the full effects of this are yet to be explored although it is likely to make the 13 remaining gods both more independant and more vulnerable in a number of ways. At around the same time, Crafter was introduced as a new name for the god Crofter, and Bast became noticeably more feral.
