Creating A Character
When you start a character at Treasure Trap, you need to provide the refs with some vital information about who they are and what they can do. This allows the ref team to keep up with what is going on in the game, and to write plot which they think your character might be interested in or be able to contribute usefully to.
There are three main things which you should send in:
A Character Sheet, containing a list of skills bought with XP
A Character Background
A Default Downtime
This is your opportunity to tell the refs who your characters are and what they want out of life. Whilst we cannot promise to please all of the people all of the time, explicitly telling us things like this makes it a lot easier for the refs to design plots and situations which people might enjoy as well as giving us a bit of a heads up if your character is likely to react a certain way to particular circumstances, and therefore lets us make the game more fun for everyone.
You can find more information on what these things are in the rest of the "How To Play" section of this website. For an explanation of what XP is and how to write a character sheet, please look under the experience system. Background, and some tips on working out the personality of your character, is covered in the 'who are you?' section. Lastly, downtime, and how to write a default one, is explained under downtime.
